Marj is preparing coffee in the separate kitchen. The sink was a converted basinette, with a funnel underneath connected to a drainage hose. The stove was a one burner kerosene contraption. All the water had to be boiled for 20 minutes. Food was bought in the local village.  Price for food was about $2 a week. Once in a great while we splurged on a chicken.
